Breast cancer tableau
Mnemosyne's daughters
Slide show; projector, side transparencies, carousel, memory book and privacy screen
Though the looping mechanized drum beat of a slide projector this exhibit memorializes just a few of the many accomplished and influential women who have not survived breast cancer. MOST WOMEN WHO DIE OF BREAST CANCER ARE NOT FAMOUS. But attention drawn to the challenges faced by these women has helped raise public awareness and dispel the disease's stigma.
The memory book invites visitors to participate by memorializing by sharing a brief story of family or friends that are deeply missed.
View portraits of a broad range of stars from the arts, popular culture, science, human rights and politics from the 18th century to today.
